Pintrest marketing strategy from scrach(pdf) free download
My favorite tool to create video pins with is Canva. Canva has lots of different fonts, images, videos, animations, stickers you can use to create your pins. For example. You need to create a video that will catch their attention and arouse curiosity. You can do that by just showing the finished product e. Never show the whole thing. No matter what your niche is you can create video pins. Pinterest prioritizes video pins and pushes them in front of the people.
If you prefer static pins and if they perform better then stick to them. Different things work for different accounts and audiences. Pinterest is very smart and uses so many different things to figure out what a pin is about. If you use a photo of a baby but add keywords and hashtags related to pancakes recipe, Pinterest is smart and will know that a baby is on that photo.
If you want to promote a pancake recipe choose a photo of pancakes and add relevant keywords and hashtags. I already talked about the importance of hashtags in my 5 tips to increase your Pinterest traffic post but I need to mention them again.
They are another tool for Pinterest to determine what your pin is about so the algorithm can understand your pin better. We all know by now that keywords are very important and that you need to use them on your profile and your pins but the way you use them is incredibly important. For your pin description, pick a few keywords that best describe your pin and write sentences around them.
Think of writing your pin description as if you are texting a friend and telling them what your post is about. What you should do instead is regularly create fresh pins for your posts and schedule them to your best performing boards and then let it be. Bonus tip -for your best performing posts create fresh pins weekly to keep the traffic coming! Pinterest wants its users to create fresh pins.
They want to see new, fresh, content on the platform. They can mark your account as spam if you constantly share the same old pins. Being business verified and leveraging the power of rich pins is essential for Pinterest marketing, so be sure to get your account verified. This is a massive step in your overall audience growth. After you successfully publish your first pin from your newly published post, you have the option to create additional pins for that blog post, too. I have my designer create and add up to 10 more pins for each blog post.
We then upload these additional pins directly to Pinterest. Ideally, you should schedule the pins you add to be published to Pinterest over time so that your Pinterest account isn't clogged with ten pins for the same post in one day. Schedule out pins so they are dripped out throughout weeks or months. You'll want to include a verity as you continue to promote your company.
This will easily help analytics. The main point for you to understand here is that you can add more doors from Pinterest to your main piece of content. Each pin becomes a backlink that you get through Pinterest - namely because you had the foresight to set up a Pinterest business account. Because people are using Pinterest as a search engine, they're able to find your content. Pinterest's unique selling proposition is that they are the world's largest search engine for images.
This means you need to understand how their algorithm associates relevance from the keywords searched in their search engine with the results display.
This way you can be sure your pins are displayed when someone executes a relevant search to your content. Most of the information Pinterest displays and relies on for building its search engine results is pulled from your 'rich pin' text that comes from your site's meta-data. As long as you are doing basic keyword research on your content and you are including relevant and keyword rich titles and descriptions on your blog posts, then your pins should be well optimized already.
If you are new to the world of Keyword Research or want to learn my exact process for dominating the search engines through keyword research, watch this video:. If you'd prefer to listen to this content from the video above, play it or download it from the podcast episode below.
Lastly, you need to be sure that your captions are compelling so that you get the click, but also keyword-rich, so they get displayed for relevant searches.
At this point, you have your business verified Pinterest account, you've got your core boards setup, and your website is configured with SEO metadata and a Pinterest plugin, so you and your visitors can 'pin' your images from your site to Pinterest boards.
The next step is to add ten relevant pins to each board just to populate them with relevant pin descriptions. This is how you'll beging to promote more traffic. This step simply means you need to fill out your account so that when a motivated Pinterest user within your audience looks at your profile and boards, they can clearly see you are a real Pinterest user. This will also give you more experience as a business user in the Pinterest user interface with their app so that you can become more confident on their platform.
You can use your own pins and mix in other users' pins by repinning them as long as they are relevant to the board users like to follow. I recommend that all your pins have a similar look and feel to reinforce your brand.
It is best to use the colors and fonts that correspond with your brand and your website, so users can become familiar with your content and will 'recognize' your content on Pinterest. Board Booster is the only Pinterest automation tool we use for business. Board Booster allows you to create secret boards that you fill up with pins and it can then publish these pins from the hidden board to your public boards based on a schedule you set up; this is called a 'campaign' in Board Booster.
One of the key benefits of this business tool and functionality is that you can batch your work in queuing up all your Pinterest marketing; this way you can spend an hour or two per week and have consistent, ongoing updates to your Pinterest account throughout the week or even multiple times per day!
Pinterest prioritizes what is new, fresh and hot; therefore, Pinterest scheduling allows pins to be published throughout the week and it consistently puts that new content out there for your business every day. Pinterest also continually triggers their algorithm to display your pins.
This saves you a lot of time and removes a huge amount of distraction, so you don't have to go to Pinterest 3 or 4 times per day. You go inside Pinterest and setup a secret board that is correlated to each of the other boards. You then put a dash before the name on the secret boards. Obviously, you want your boards named something relevant to your target audience and the keywords they search.
At this point, every single board that you're going to be continuing to grow in an automated manner with pins has a secret version of it so only you can see it. You name it the same thing with a "-" in front. Everyday, Board Booster pulls a pin from the -Facebook Advertising secret board and moves it to the public 'Facebook Advertising' board on the schedule I pre-determine which is about 10 per day on this particular board.
If I add pins to the secret board that acts as my queue, then Board Booster is moving 10 per day to the public board one every 2. The next powerful feature in Board Booster is their looping feature. In addition to scheduling your campaign, you want to use Board Booster's looping function that re-posts your old pins as new, to get them more exposure.
This is all customizable, and right now I have looping set to re-post five pins throughout the day.
Now, this is running on a board that has hundreds of posts. The looping feature is going to my oldest pins in that board five times per day, and repinning them to the top of the board. After two days, Board Booster will automatically delete whichever one of the two duplicated pins has the least amount of repins or engagement.
So, the looping feature is another way to increase your frequency of pinning which is important, without requiring more work for you and this gives your Pinterest marketing content a longer shelf life which is important. As you include in more new blog posts, each getting ten pins, those ten pins all get looped over time giving you even more 'leverage' and longevity with your Pinterest marketing efforts.
If you're going to use this looping strategy, be sure that all of your pins are evergreen! The pin and content for the looping feature to work needs to be more evergreen, meaning it is relevant all year long. There are two ways to create an account on Pinterest.
The first method is to create one from their website. To do so, choose if you want to create an account using your Facebook account, Google account, or your email address. The second method of creating a Pinterest account is to do it through the app.
Open the Pinterest app, and you get the following screen. The same goes here. However, the difference is that you cannot create an account using Google, nor can you create a business account directly when signing up. Business account has to be done at a later stage of you signing up. As of today, there is no possibility of creating a business account directly through the app.
You have to do it on the Pinterest website. To convert your personal account to a business account: If you have already created a regular account but want to convert it to a business account, you can do so very easily. Business accounts have access to a few more features than regular accounts, such as Pinterest Analytics, which is a built-in analytics tool that lets you study how your page performs.
In addition to Analytics, you will also need a business account to create ads on the platform. As with all social media platforms, Pinterest has its own dictionary of words and terms that are dedicated solely to the platform.
Of course, for beginners, these words can be confusing, and make the usage of Pinterest more difficult than it needs to be. Therefore, one of your highest priorities, when getting started, should be to learn the meaning of the most common Pinterest terms.
Pin A pin is a visual bookmark that redirects you to another website if you click on it, often the original source. Repinning is also known as re-pinning and saving. Re-Pinning is the new re-tweet. Pinterest may not be the newest social site but it is quickly taking over the old favorites and research has uncovered that Pinterest drives more traffic than Twitter.
Board A board is a place where you save related pins. You can create how many boards as you want, and normally, you add pins that have something in common on the same boards and name them to separate them better. Boards are like folders that let you keep your pins organized on the platform.
Follower When you find a pinner who shares appealing content, you can follow that user. Now, when that individual adds a new pin, it will appear on your homepage.
Source link A source link is the website URL that a shared pin links to. Likes Similar to most social platforms. Like a pin to show your support, and that you endorse it. A bonus of the like feature on Pinterest is that you can like a pin and then later look at it without sharing it on your profile.
Before you start creating pins or repinning, you need somewhere to put them. Therefore, before you begin pinning, you need to create one or more boards.
Give the board a name, and choose if you want the board to be secret or public. If you want to edit your board later go to the board you created and tap the pen icon in the top left corner.
Here you can name your board, add a description, add a topic, invite collaborators that can contribute to the board, add more people, and delete your board. Every board you create should have a distinct theme.
As you start creating more boards, you need to take a moment to think about what topics resonate well with your brand, what topics speak your brand language — and reflect your personality. Now that you have created a board, you are ready to start creating your first pin. If you are visiting a website, you can share a pin of the images that are on that website — if the website has integrated share buttons. If you want to create a pin directly from the app, you can do so.
Once you are there, you can look around until you find an image worth pinning. To pin an image you see, tap on it, and you'll be presented with options to share it. However, one of the simplest methods is to install the Pin It button directly from Pinterest. Once installed, this button will appear on your browser bar.
When you find an image online that you like, press the pin button, and Pinterest will ask you to confirm which image you would like to select for pinning. By pinning with the button, there is no need to attribute the image as Pinterest will link it back to its original location. Simply add your new pin to the most relevant board and add a caption to ensure it is sufficiently optimized.
On Pinterest, you can send and receive private messages from other users on the platform. To access your messages once inside the app, choose the speech bubble icon at the bottom of your screen. Many don't know this, but Pinterest has a visual search feature that lets you identify, and sometimes even buy products in a pin. Pinterest will present similar products like the ones seen in the pin and suggest similar products from online stores, that you can put in your cart and shop without ever having to leave the app.
To access this feature, tap on the magnifying glass in the top right corner of a pin, and then on the suggested dots that appear on the pin after Pinterest has identified the object s. Pinterest has developed a browser extension for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox that lets you save links to images that you find on the web.
In the bottom right corner of every pin, you can see a small circle. If you tap on that, Pinterest will present you with more pins similar to that — without redirecting you to a new page. To get more exact results, you can filter your search results by tapping the funnel icon located just right to the search bar.
